The Colman Smith cards were designed from hand-drawn pencil images of the Rider Wait cards. These images were then scanned into computer readable format (bmp). Care was taken to close each individual structure within the drawings so a filling tool could be used to give the structure color and texture. In those days the Kai Power Tools had just emerged and I was burning to give them a shot on my old trusted Rider Wait deck, a donation from Koenigsfurt Verlag in Germany. I long held the notion that those cards needed a beefing up in terms of lifelines.
The pencil drawing scans are made available for download so you can fire up your favorite image processing software and create yet another version of that good ol’ classic of tarot.
